Sig Sauer's patent for an 'Integral Eccentric Firearm Silencer' was approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office last week.

Essentially, this looks to be a wet suppressor that uses an ablative, rather than baffles, for sound reduction. I understand. I am amazed when I think about the number of words that have been ruined by the politically correct or by propagandists. Listing some banned or ruined words could be a fun post by itself.

Technically, per the BATFE it is silencer . . . National Firearms Act Definitions per 26 U.S.C. S.S.5845 (a) (7).

I was corrected the other day by a Sig dealer. I always used the term "suppressor" per my dealings with HK.
