I have seen where the Police, Fire, and EMS Systems overload to the point of picking and choosing what to respond to during an Ice Storm or Snowstorm....even though the damage to the Electrical Grid from Downed Poles/wires is generally restored in a week or so, people lose their freaking minds!
The influx of illegals from Central and South America are used to being and going without...I expect they'll be a lot more resilient than the majority of Americans.

I as a prepper consider this to be an event that could take down this country. I believe it is plausible that a high number of the population could die. This is the direction I have made my preparations for. .
Dan talks about the government being feckless.. He has seen it first hand during 9-11 ...No one is coming to save you folks. They will make it worse (the government ) One needs to look to history they will see where the support would be ..In China The rural people starved to death while the government made sure the riots did not occur in the cities and overthrow the government. (the rural areas had food taken from them.. )
History will repeat itself to some extent. even here ..

And that was just snow.

If and when the US gets attacked again, this ain't going to be 2001 when people would remain calm and considerate to each other. I remember how it went and how it actually brought folks together to help one another.

This time around it's going to be an eye opener to see how people's mindset has changed. It's going to be scary for a lot of people. I see it as the government has allowed crime and allowed everything nasty to be allowed. Now it will be turned and used against the common folk who want to ban together for the good.

Folks that grew up without the Internet era and the instant gratification would likely have to deal with the chaos from people not knowing what to do.
