Police investigating active shooter at Poughkeepsie hotel​

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – Multiple police agencies responded to a Route 9 hotel early Sunday morning for a report of an active shooter. Police recovered one victim with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police, fire, and EMS personnel responded to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on South Road (Route 9) just before 8:00 a.m. for a report of an active shooter armed with a long gun. A victim with multiple gunshot wounds was transported by ambulance to a local hospital while performing CPR

Early radio transmissions indicate that one suspect was taken into custody. Police SWAT teams from two agencies were activated and responded to the command center set up in a parking lot near the hotel while others began a room-by-room search in the fully booked (Marist College Parent Weekend) Motel
