EOs don't become law. EOs direct government agency policies. Laws have to go through the whole process.

I have not found anything where the Obama Whitehouse directed a review of bump stocks or Obama deflecting the “blame “ for allowing them. Just the opposite. The ATF officials who determined it said they didn’t hear anything from the White House at the time one way or the other.

School me up but I'm pretty sure nothing that originates on the President's desk is a "law" given that it didn't come from Congress.

"Rule", "order", "memorandum", "marching orders", call it whatever you want but it is only binding until a future preside undoes it with the stroke of a pen.

That's why laws are more enduring than this stuff. It's why the system is designed the way it is- because the executive is supposed to execute. The legislature is supposed to legislate.

That’s why this executive decision is better than a law for our case.

It’s a reinterpretation of existing law. ATF prior determinations will help any lawsuits. The court might just say, congress has to make a new law.
