You stole my idea lol! I've been collecting red anodized parts for a build just haven't started it.
Paint one yourself. You can buy red anodized paint, and clear coat. Not sure how it would hold up, but it's an option.
Exactly. The ladder guards, and cant mount on my old ar were painted with that same product. I thought they looked great.

Looks good. Different, but good. My different colored handguard makes me want to color parts of the rest of the rifle to match.
I was thinking that I like the P-308 for my bolt gun, the P-223 would be a nice addition to my AR. How do you like it?
I love you! Beautiful find. I absolutely need those 2 pieces.
My thoughts:
1) I like the layout of the scope ranging system as it integrates with my Nikon phone app.
2) I like the feel of the turrets, and that they do not need allen wrenches. I also love the zero-return on the turret.
3) The glass is bright and clear, even in lower light situations at the end of the shooting day.
4) I am not in love with the scope rings, in that I wish they had 4 or 6 screws instead of 2 screws. But there has been zero scope movement so maybe I shouldn't get so caught up in how many screws per ring?
5) The scope is giving me an eye relief of about 3.5", which I like a lot. I am not a fan of 2.5" to 3".
6) Paralax is fixed at 100 yards. You could argue that it's good or bad; but I honestly am fine with that.
NOTE: I also put an M-308 on two of my Remington 700's and I love them. I am so happy with Nikon that I have completely replaced my Pentax LightSeeker 30 collection (I had 3) with Nikon Monarch and Prostaff product lines.
I wish I sprang for the M-308 for my bolt gun. I like the P, but the parallax adjustment on the M was why I was considering the Vortex Crossfire II with adjustable parallax. Hearing your comment though on the clarity and light transmission is reassuring though. I can always upgrade to the M if I really feel I need it. Then again, it's a $250 gun and a $250 scope. I have good enough money into my beginner rifle. Next bolt gun will be bigger and better....I mean, I'm done
That being said, with the range on the 308, I am looking at a Primary Arms 1-6 scope for a medium range feel to my AR.
I think you'll be fine with the mounts, since you said it's not moving. Though it is all about feel.
When people blow $3K plus on a rifle and $2K on glass; are they buying something better than 0.25 MOA? .
Honestly Remington does such a great job with their rifles that I have had a hard time convincing myself I needed anything more. I think each of my 700 Police were maybe $650 each. $700 at max. My 700 XHR was probably also about $700. I would say each of those 3 weapons are 0.25 to 0.5 MOA. I have an M308 on one, a Leupold LR/T on one, and a Springfield Armory Government on one. I think my AR500 plate at 600 yards is 8" or 10". I can ring it with any of those 3. I also have a Remington 700 classic in 338 Winmag. I can hit the plate at 500 but haven't shot it since I cut the trees for 600 on my range. But I assume I can. I think I paid about $600 for my 700 Classic. I also have a 770 in 300 Winmag that I have played with out to 400. Seems to be about 1 MOA. When people blow $3K plus on a rifle and $2K on glass; are they buying something better than 0.25 MOA? Otherwise, what's the money being spent for? I never went beyond these inexpensive rifles - doubt I ever will TBH.

Please explain how you can get a .25 MOA from a .308 cal hole....
I measure from outside to outside of my holes....IMO there is no other way.......but how can i measure it better to shrink my group sizes? I need to do this.
Center to center measuring is misleading at best.
