Advantage Arms conversion

Anyone have an Advantage Arms conversion, specifically for a Glock?

What are your thoughts?
What ammo does it like?

Since the .22lr S&W M&P isn't NY compliant, I'm thinking about building up a dedicated .22lr Glock for plinking and first-time pistol shooters.

I've been thinking about one for a couple of years now. I think that I would buy one if I found one locally. I've got a conversion kit for my full sized Sig 220 (by Sig, not AA) and I use it often.

Are you sure about the M&P 22 not being compliant? Smith's website show both compact and full-size without threaded barrels, am I missing something else?

I've seen them for sale at LG shops but they are threaded with a cap. The law states no threaded barrel so I didn't buy. They don't make a non threaded version as far as I know. They make 2 models one with a protruding threaded barrel and one that's covered by the slide but still threaded. Most if not all websites will not ship to NY but you can find them at some shops that interpret the law as compliant. I'm not

You are correct, I was looking at their site on my phone. Checked it out more closely on the lap-top and it seems only the compact has a threadless barrel option.

I have one and my daughter loves it. if its clean and you use CCI 40 gr mini mags and the bulk Remington golden bullets. they run and give real affordable trigger time. I tried other ammo and the only thing it was good for was practicing malfunction drills. Easy to switch over from 22 to 9. When I first got it I always had problems with it double feeding. I was at Master Class in monroe and a fellow next to me said mark the magazine you having a problem with. with in a minute of so we found we were having problems with one magazine.We open up that mag and compared it to the others and the spring was Smaller. I called the company and they send me a new one no questions asked. I think its a NO BRAINER . if you do any training with any new shooters just pop a few lead bullets in for malfunction drills .

I am not big into cleaning a firearms after a range visit. This component I clean after each visit to keep it running correctly

The compact does not have a threadless option, they did make a California compliant model but discontinued awhile back. Maybe people are welding the caps on or something to make legal. Gander mt would only sell them to LEO's

What would an AR pistol with a spur grip be called if the spur is not a pistol grip, but is on a pistol? Or should I probably not go there.

I like my aa kit, but I also hate have half a gun. At some point I will probably look into getting another glock frame to pair it with permanently.

Look at Combat Armory. They have used G22 frames starting at $129, used G17 frames starting at $159, and even new frames. They also do free Priority Mail shipping to your FFL.

I just bought one last night. Total impulse buy. Though I've been mulling it over for sometime, I got impulsive and finally went for it. Then I continued my irresponsible impulse spending and bought 1k of .22, 100rds of 357 and 200rds of 9mm.

Heh, forgot all about this thread.

I picked one up and put it on a G22 frame that I picked up from Combat Armory for about $100. I now have a dedicated Glock .22lr pistol.
Tried running a couple of different rounds through it. The Browning yellow-box stuff sucked. 7 failures to feed and/or extract in my first 10 rounds. It eats Remington Golden Bullets all day long and hasn't skipped a beat yet.

I put it in the hands of a new shooter - she had never in her life even held a firearm. Within about 30 rounds, we had her shooting the 10-ring out of the target at 7 yards. Once she was comfortable with that, I put a G17 in her hands. Same look, feel, and function as the 22. She loved it.

Yeah, it was well worth it.

I'm a little surprised that the Remington Golden Bullets did well. I've heard negative things about them. Mine will be going on my 23. I want cheap training as well as a semi auto 22 pistol capability. Right now all I have for 22 hand gun is a single action Rough Rider.
