I agree! My point was that when someone says something like; "There have only been two home invasions in our neighborhood in the last 11 years.", it's usually bullshit.

Normally someone would say something like; "we live in a very safe neighborhood", or "I can't remember the last time we had anything happen in our community". When they pull out the; "(X) amount of anything, in (X) amount of time", it's normally bullshit.

Even if the above were true (which I doubt!!), does that mean there will never be a 3rd home invasion?? AND, God forbid if she were to ever leave the house!!

That's one home invasion every 5.5 years on average.

What I am saying is that I call BULLSHIT on the old man's claim. I really don't give a shit if it's 1 every night, or if there has never been one since time and memorial. What I am saying is that the old man's letter is bullshit.

She's from Freeville NY and the replacement for Dear Abby. Basically an Ithaca native.

Freeville is closer to Groton—where Democrats and liberals are rare as hen's teeth—than Ithaca, so it's a real mix.

Amy Dickinson is a lib with liberal blind spots and this column is a real stunner even coming from her. She's also a rank hypocrite; she's leading a brigade against a solar farm near Willow Glen Cemetery in Dryden, claiming that it will "spoil the view" for her dead ancestors. I've got ancestors buried there too, that cleared the land and built the industries there in the first place, not to keep it frozen in time. No solar, no natural gas, just keep burning coal and raising prices.

Doesn't surprise me that this NIMBY has such ignorant opinions on guns, but wow... she must have worked really hard to write such an ignorant, callous column.
