Yes and no. They did restrict about 10 bangs and smokes. Real bangs were already hard to obtain so I am not sure what they banned exactly. There is still a lot of smoke options that are not on the naughty list and are freely available.

I read a bit of it and it doesn’t seem like they are making rules. To me it seemed like they were warning that some items sold over the internet marketed as solvent traps are actually silencers. I think it’s similar to the oil filters that you could buy from China that were silencers.

I honestly didn't know that China was selling suppressors that were advertised as vehicle oil filters, lol.
I know there is a company that makes an adapter for your gun that allows you to use an oil filter as a disposable suppressor, but that it is also ATF approved and you go through the same process as you would buying any other suppressor to get one.

Denying knowledge of the suppressors won't help. The choppers will be along shortly.

A while back it was popular to get diesel oil filters and sometimes they would come in a silencers if you were not careful. There was a YouTube video of the ATF coming to a guys house who ordered a bunch of oil filters because he was a home/backyard mechanic and they thought he was buying silencers illegally.
It’s fairly common knowledge and here is an article on it. BTW I don’t recommend it for safety or legality reasons.
