Air gun laws in NYS?

It's a Umarex, Steel Force 6 Shot Burst. The reviews were not that great but I took my chances and went with it anyway.
So far so good. I have had it about 3 years now. In the 6 round burst 5 bb's stay grouped but there is usually 1 flyer.
I don't use it as much as some of the others maybe that's why it hasn't malfunctioned yet. IDK

I get a box of 40 Crosman 12 gram cartridges for around $17 - $18 at walmart. I will usually go through 5 cartridges per session. That would be 2 cartridges per rifle x 2 rifles (which ever ones that I decide to use at the time) and 1 cartridge for one of the pistols. That's a fair amount of shooting so not to bad IMO.

Only the steel bb's are supposed to be run through the Umarex so I stick with that.
I usually use the copper bb's with the other bb guns though.

That’s what I have. It broke just over the 3 month mark. I did the same as you. Found it on sale and took a chance. I guess your a better gambler than I am. What pissed me off is I emailed the company even after it was outside the warranty and they said they would fix it if I had the receipt. I just threw the receipt out since the warranty had passed. I had a bank statement and they basically said sorry your SOL. Pissed me and the kids off. Now they won’t get my money. If your going to fix something outside of the warranty due to known defects then why do I need a receipt?

Maybe, maybe not, IDK... I don't use it all that often for one thing.
I have a few favorite air guns that gets used most of the time and the Umarex isn't one of them.

One reason that I don't use it much is because it's so hard to load. Getting the bb's from the reservoir into the magazine can be a pain in the butt. It does get used though, just not as much as some of the others.

I don't spend to much money on air guns. When I look at the prices of the higher end stuff I would rather put that kind of money toward a actual firearm or ammo. But except for starlings I do not use air guns for hunting so YMMV.

I've always been under the impression that since they are not firearms, those rules did not apply. I also grew up in a small town, and no one cared that we shot bows or pellet guns in the back yard.

Same here, but Id like to see it in writing to be certain.
