Airgun pistols for training?

Can anyone comment on the use of replica airguns for training with pistols? Are they reasonably close to the "real" thing? Obviously less boom, (so I could set up in my basement) but otherwise is the handling the same? Here's one I've been looking at.

My opinion-
Bbguns are garbage. I use to play with them all of the time. They really aren't accurate. They're inconsistent. What I can say was accurate was the daisy red Ryder. But that is the lever action long barrel.

Feel wise. They are pretty much dead on.

I'm not sure about real air pistols. But airsoft pistols can be useful for practicing drawing and firing first shots. There is no point in using them for a 2nd shot since even the gas blow-back pistols don't have enough recoil to simulate having to get a real pistol back on target.

I've got a gas blow-back Glock 19 that I'd never take outside because it looks so damn real. It also fits my real pistol holsters.

Iuse an airsoft Glock 19 replica for training and I think it's a great tool to incorporate along with live fire training. I also have an airsoft AR-15 replica that I also use for training purposes. Both are great tools, and they have their place along with formal training, dry fire practice, and good old-fashioned range time.

I bought my son an m4 replica and it's freaking awesome. Super accurate to 15 yards. I have more fun with that than my real guns some times.

Remember there are BB guns (small spheres, cheap, less than accurate, CO2 is temperature dependent, dangerous ricochet potentially).

Pellet guns (many calibers, shapes, and weights of highly accurate pellets but more expensive in most cases). No true semi-autos that are practical. These are the Olympic event rifles and pistols.

Airsoft (authentic feeling, not as accurate but true semi-auto and most realistic).

There are force on force scenarios where it could be useful, especially if simunitions are not available. I can say that drilling close quarters interactions where one has to determine if drawing is necessary is just one very useful application of this technology. Blue guns are useful for this to a point, but what about seeing if one can actually get a shot off in time? They *can* be used for serious training even in most people don't use them for that.

I like my air guns and have a lot invested in them but they really don't transfer skills very well other than crude basic ones like don't point it at your eye.

Maybe, just maybe, a high end AirSoft pistol or rifle would be useful. I bought a well-regarded Airsoft replica of my 2011 and while it was fun to hose with plastic pellets - and it felt heavy, like my real gun - the hassles with gas are a pain in the ass, especially outdoors in less than optimal weather. And they simply aren't accurate.

I like shooting the 10m air pistol in the basement and the PCP rifle outdoors. But they aren't like my powderburners at all, they are entirely different sports.

I mean unless you don't care about getting a shot off in time that's **on target**.
