Looks like carbon fiber? Never been a fan of Hog or pred hunting with dogs. But google air rifle big game hunts on youtube, Pretty sharp big game big cal airguns...

I've had a tuned Sam Yang recluse 9mm for a couple of years now and have been eradicating vermin and coyotes with it.
I use a pump to charge it, as I don't have a reliable source to charge tanks to the required pressure needed for big bore air rifles.
Been eyeing a custom 45 caliber rifle, but don't want to sell a body part to acquire it and the air compressor I'd have to buy to charge it.
Very nice carbon fiber wrap on your rifles barrel and LDC.

Sorry, I got a 5-6 year old Rapid Air Weapons HM-1000 air rifle in .177 that is tuned to do low power but many shots, so it is under 12 fpe and about 750 fps with an 8.4 gr JCB domed pellet. It's a side lever and the magazine holds 17 rounds so it is quick and easy to load and shoot. Walther barrel, shrouded and "moderated". The carbon fiber air tank holds 400cc of air at 200 BAR so I get about 200 good shots because the rifle has an air regulator to make each round consistent. For my situation, with a 50 yard range, this is ideal except when it is windy, obviously more power bucks the wind better. The gun is quiet, hitting targets is louder than firing it. Scope is an Aeon 6-24x50 AE with side focusing, no complaints. I splurged on an Atlas bipod but I guess the entire package is a splurge (although the scope wasn't expensive, it is popular with these kinds of guns).
The other big investment was the carbon fiber air tank for refilling, it was over $800 alone. The paintball place in Rochester will fill it for $8, I can get about 2000 shots from it. Pellets are ~3 cents each. The math still doesn't work out but you can pretend it does ;-p
I've had various other poor to high quality spring and pump guns but this is my first PCP. It was a luxury, there are several excellent quality PCP air rifles in the $500 range that do just the same thing, although this has a nice build quality and probably a little more accuracy. I like buying a used gun from a reputable seller who knows how to set it up and can tell me the history, I had to wait about six months for this to come up for sale from someone I felt trustworthy about and it having the right set up for me. I saved about $800-900 buying it lightly used.
All together I have about $3K into everything but as I said you could do a very satisfactory set up that could probably outshoot me for under a grand if you do your homework. My springer air rifle and pump 10m target pistol still get used, it is nice to have options. I did sell off my cheap stuff though. I don't really see the point of owning a 22lr anymore (I've had a bunch, from Marlins to Anschutz) since this is so quiet and accurate I can headshot anything within range and follow ups, while not semi-auto fast, can be made quickly.

He used to work with the Theoben design that these are based upon, the other Theoben partner is in Sweden and now makes FX Air Rifles, another well regarded brand (somewhat higher tech but a little less quality IMHO).
I dissected this Spaghetti Squash at 35 yards with the wind yesterday.
This is my range. The pellets are pretty slow even compared to most Walmart Crosman Springers but I am still shooting into a solid backdrop with woods and farmland behind. I know you could put your eye out or puncture skin inside of 50 yards but I doubt there is much danger beyond that. If I got into a more power air rifle like the .25 or .30 calibers I'd be more paranoid.
I actually have used some of my 3-gun steel here semi-permanently, it rings just as well with a pellet as a bullet just not super loud. My best steel target is an old shovel head, it is thinner and sounds great.
This Spring I need to haul some debris out and I want to plant some creeping vines on the west side to further block the wind and obscure everything from neighbors. I have it posted and a winding trail so I don't get casual lookie loos but I want to further hide it from the busy bodies. Eventually I'll get some gravel down around my shooting bench (picnic table) and install more small field target style self resetting metal targets that won't attract attention. I have a hiking trail - biking loop surrounding everything but it's small enough that anyone can hear me if they should be where they shouldn't.
I'm not ever getting rid of my powder burners but it is pretty sweet to walk to your own range, I also have an air pistol range in the basement! I've tried several competitions now, USPSA and 3-gun, but honestly I'm a plinker and don't want to get more and more obsessive, also my arthritis is limiting so this is a good compromise until I can move out to Utah and blast away with freedom....

This is another really knowledgable forum: TargetTalk • Index page most of the people there know their stuff and it may be of interest to non air gunners too. I tend to go here first for the difficult questions, it's a higher level of enthusiast but sometimes I have to admit I'm really not going to clean my barrel every five rounds or rebuild parts from scratch.

Nice write-up. Thanks! I have a Benjamin XL Nitro .177 break barrel that I got used. I have to take the time to bench it and get it sighted in correctly. I don't know for sure but it might have an issue with the "return" from break, as I seem to get erratic vertical stringing.
Not trying to bust chops but how are you holding the gun. Springers are hold sensitive. Just by holding the gun too firmly will throw off the accuracy. Look up the artillery hold and give it a try.
Yeah shooting a springer well is one of the hardest things to do, the PCP guns are cheaters really (no recoil, any hold). There is a lot of info online, watch some videos.

I've got a Walther 'cowboy style' lever action dual CO2 .177 pellet rifle. I'm not totally thrilled with it. Shoots about 70-80 shots on the dual cartridges. After about 30-40 shots I detect a noticeable drop in pellet trajectory. The mfg says it should hold zero for 60-70 shots. Very aggressive estimate IMO.
