Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would’ve looked a lot less shady had she and her staff accurately answered some simple questions from the start about whether she lives in the district she was elected to represent. Yet now she’s playing the victim.
On Saturday, The Post found that residents at Ocasio-Cortez’s listed address (her late father’s Parkchester condo) said they’d never seen her around. Other troubling signs include the fact that the mail routinely piles up for weeks.
Her spokesman, Corbin Trent, would only say, “We will not be commenting.” And the congresswoman herself ghosted a Post reporter at an event in Corona. So we reported all the facts we had in Sunday’s Post.
Only then did AOC & Co. announce that she still lives in the area with her boyfriend, in a bigger condo “a block and a half away.” Was that really so hard to say the first time?
Now she’s pretending it’s all about her safety, tweeting, “A man was just arrested last week with a stockpile of guns specifically trying to kill me [and] others, so yeah I’m not gonna disclose my personal address or tell people when I move. Sorry!”
In fact, the addresses of elected officials are public record. But The Post never intended to publicize her specific location, as we’d have told anyone on Team AOC who mentioned security fears.
And her habit of treating everything as a personal attack is getting old.
Corrected after getting numbers wildly wrong on Pentagon waste, she complains of people being “more concerned about being precisely, factually and semantically correct than being morally right.” Called out for bungling basic facts about the subsidies Amazon was in line for, she offers a five-tweet rant, whining, “Frankly, the knee-jerk reaction assuming that I ‘don’t understand’ how tax giveaways to corps work is disappointing.”
Nor does her latest victim act explain her lack of an office in her district. If renovations to her planned space are running late, well: Other pols in similar situations have paid to staff a few desks at a state legislator’s office in the district.
Instead, desperate constituents have resorted to leaving notes at the apartment where she doesn’t live.
It’s almost like AOC doesn’t realize who she’s supposed to be working for . . .

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez blasted a Republican senator from Texas for quoting Italian fascist dictator Benito Mussolini.
“In case you missed it, while the GOP is calling paying a living wage ‘socialism,’ a Republican Senator full-on quoted National Fascist Party leader and Hitler ally Benito Mussolini like it’s a Hallmark card,” she wrote to her 3.27 million followers on Twitter Monday.
She was referring to a tweet sent the day before by Sen. John Cornyn.
In it, he wrote: “‘We were the first to assert that the more complicated the forms assumed by civilization, the more restricted the freedom of the individual must become.’ Benito Mussolini,” the posting said.
Bud Kennedy, a reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, questioned the meaning of Cornyn’s tweet, suggesting the senator was “warning against a powerful central government” and asked him to clarify his comments.
“You nailed it, Bud. Since so-called Democratic Socialists have forgotten or never learned the lessons of history, and how their ideology is incompatible with freedom, I guess we have to remind or teach them,” Cornyn wrote in response on Twitter.
He returned to the social messaging network a couple hours later to add: “Did I over estimate the intelligence of some in the twitter sphere?”

In her continuing drive to protect her privacy, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez complained on Twitter about someone who was “creepily” trying to go unnoticed as he snapped her picture.
“Tonight a dude was creepily (and obviously) taking a picture of me while pretending he wasn’t and I had to break his imaginary fourth wall and say ‘Hi! I’m a person! This is weird!’ the freshman Democrat wrote.
Noticing her tweet, right-wing firebrand Jack Posobiec, who proceeded to mock her.
“When you spot @AOC out for dinner and sneak photos of her to post later on twitter,” he captioned a gif of a youngster peering through glasses with multiple lenses.
Ocasio-Cortez fired back: “When you’re guy that’s so unaware of his own creepiness that you tweet this from your own account as if it’s normal and not stalkerish at all.”
“You do realize I’m making fun of the people stalking you right? Snapping photos of people while they’re eating is just weird, regardless of anyone’s politics,” Posobiec responded.
“She is so bad at this she didn’t understand I was MOCKING the people stalking her. Gonna be a long two years with this one, folks,” he said.
The congresswoman said it “would help if it was funny,” adding that “a former Coast Guard member literally got arrested plotting to kill me last week and Republican journalists have been paying stakeout photographers to take pictures of me going inside my house, maybe read a room.”
“The tweet is still creepy,” she added.
Last week, Ocasio-Cortez cited her personal safety for not disclosing details about her residency.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was among House Democrats who laced into moderates Thursday — threatening to run those who side with Republicans out of office in the 2020 primaries, according to a new report.
The hard-left freshman congresswoman led the charge in a closed-door session, saying some of her moderate colleagues are “putting themselves on a list,” her spokesman Corbin Trent told the Washington Post.
Ocasio-Cortez suggested she would help liberal activists to unseat moderates in the next election.
“She said that when activists ask her why she had to vote for a gun safety bill that also further empowers an agency that forcibly injects kids with psychotropic drugs, they’re going to want a list of names and she’s going to give it to them,” Trent said, referring to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
A fed-up Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged unity within the party, advising her colleagues, “We are either a team or we’re not, and we have to make that decision.”
The blow-up was prompted by a House vote Wednesday on a bill that would expand federal background checks for gun sales to gun shows and the internet.
The bill passed 240-190.
But 26 moderate Democrats sided with Republicans in amending the bill to include a provision that requires a notification to ICE if an illegal immigrant wants to purchase a firearm, the Washington Post reported.
Fellow freshman Rep. Xochitl Torres Small, of New Mexico, pushed back against Ocasio-Cortez, urging her and her colleagues to understand the reality of representing a swing district, multiple people who were in the meeting told the Washington Post.
A spokesman for Torres Small didn’t respond to the paper’s request for comment.
Others are seeking reform or to altogether nix what’s known as the “motion to recommit” procedure that allowed the gun bill amendment in the first place. The process gives the minority party one last chance to make amendments just moments before the bill comes up for a final vote.
