All for a Patch!

On Feb 11 2017, 22 patriots will brave the cold a Sara Spa Rod & Gun Club for the chance of earning the well sought after Winterseed patch! Along with 9 instructors who will also be trying to get so time on the mats as well.
Now I need to get in some practice, and try to get loosened up some the kneeling/sitting is the tuff on this old man! Get both my 10/22 and Ruger American (RAR) sighted in for 25 meters. The 3 patches and the AQT target that we will be shooting.

We will have an Appleseed shoot in June if you are interested I can put you in contact with the guy running it.

I think it is sold out! The Shoot Boss Grumpy1 just joined the Club yesterday and told me he has been getting a lot of calls. You may have to wait till our April Shoot.

I did an Appleseed years ago, didn't do well because I had a hard time sighting in my 10/22. I keep meaning to do another one, with better ammo and possibly a scope (I can't see the target too well with my eyes).. would love to get a Winterseed patch but I hate the cold. And the cold hates me.

I support the Appleseed project but, I don't participate in it. I am not laying on the ground to shoot again unless it is for keeps. Did way too much of that and my new motto is, " if you see me on the ground, it is because I fell."

I'd like to do it with my boys, but they're still a bit on the young side so once they get a little older I'll get them each their own Ruger 10/22 it will be a nice way for us to spend time together

The 10/22's with the new modular stocks are ideal for Appleseed! If your kids are small they can grow into these rifles. I do prefer the ones that I have seen at Walmart with out the rail, because I would go the Tech-Sight route for open sight ( Also the rail mount tech-sight, easier to pop off if you want to scope the rifle ) Auto bolt release is also a big plus when shooting the AQT's
