House Democrats attending the Democratic National Convention next week are being advised by congressional security officials not to book hotel rooms under their own names or engage with protesters if confronted, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: The guidance comes as some Democratic lawmakers are fearful about their safety after being rattled by a series of disruptive pro-Palestinian protests since the Israel-Hamas war started last year.

  • One House Democrat told Axios they are "very concerned" about their personal security and that "of course" other lawmakers are as well.
  • A senior House Democrat said law enforcement is telling members "not to go to a certain area, because they expect violence."
  • "The protesters aren't staying in a designated protest site ... and there are people who are going to go and really try to cause trouble," the lawmaker predicted.

Groups expected to take part in the protests include:

  • Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER)
  • U.S Palestinian Community Network
  • Students for Justice in Palestine
  • Anti-War Committee Chicago
  • Students for a Democratic Society
  • Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression
  • International League of People’s Struggles
  • Freedom Road Socialist Organization
  • Arab American Action Network
  • Code Pink
  • Bayan USA
  • American Muslims for Palestine
Other politically-motivated protest groups may use the DNC to promote their cause; this could include protests in support of or against aid to Ukraine, abortion, immigration, climate change, or the cost of living.

Let me get this straight....the Democrat base is planning to protest and damage a Democrat-run city during the Democrat National Convention? That causes Democrat leaders to issue safety warnings to Democrat legislators. And.......I'm supposed to give one damn.....




....about not having wall-to-wall coverage from multiple angles and locations?

I was only 3 years old during the 1968 Democratic Convention. So I kind of missed out on that Democratic shit show.

This time I am in the position to thoroughly enjoy this Democratic shit show.

I hope that this doesn't turn into a nothing-burger. I will be greatly disappointed if it does.
But I don't think that's going to happen. There's going to be a lot of mentally ill unhinged lefties there. Trouble is bound to happen. IMO

President Joe Biden and Jill Biden will not be attending Kamala’s nomination speech and plan to leave Democrat national convention after his farewell address later today.

I read there are 19 Dementia Joe and Kamaltoe's second term references in the 90-some-odd pages of convention propaganda. You can't fix stupid. In fact it's apparently a prerequisite to becoming a DNC delegate.
ALSO....there are no Harris/Walz '24 signs up in the convention center. Once they officially kick Biden to the curb after tonight the joint will be dirt with them.

Currently, chaos is unfolding in Chicago, Illinois, as hundreds, possibly thousands, of pro-Palestine and other activists storm the Democratic National Convention fence. The scene is becoming increasingly volatile, with law enforcement on high alert. Protesters are setting off smoke bombs, hurling objects at police, and clashing with security forces as tensions continue to escalate.
