That’s nice, because Zeldin spending over $1 million to reassure us that he wouldn’t change a damn thing about New York having taxpayer-funded abortion up through birth and abortion tourism incentives just confirms my worst suspicions about the man and makes it difficult if next to impossible for me to hold my nose and vote for him.

Number 1 that’s not how we make laws in New York.
Number 2, that’s not what he said, he said he “will not” change New York’s laws on abortion, and spent 7 figures on advertising that. So maybe I “will not” vote for him.
Reminder what New York’s laws on abortion are. Essentially there are no laws on abortion. With the “Reproductive Health Act” abortion is not a crime at any stage for any reason. Not only is abortion on demand at 24 weeks (defined under this law as since commencement of pregnancy not last menstrual period as it normally is so this is really a 26+ week pregnancy, which has a near 90% survival rate if delivered) but any “provider,” a nurse, midwife, whatever is authorized to abort through birth if in her own nonreviewable and undefined discretion it “protects the health” of the “patient,” which abortionists say it always does. And we are paying 100% off the cost for these abortions on Medicaid.

We need to stop the talk of the state of emergencies and emergency orders. That’s not right and it’s not democracy or a republic. Those are one person’s edicts and I’m sick of it. I fully expect hochul to declare a gun violence emergency at some point and say sorry no pistol permit and oh you signed up for a rifle permit too? We need all your guns to stop this. Look at the abuse that’s already happened, Covid, ducking moneypox? Really, anyone on here know anyone who got the monkey pox? I sure don’t.

As I was leaving my office tonight I ran into Colin Schmitt. He is running for congress and has a campaign office in my building. We chatted briefly and he did say that the data they looked at today showed the margin was down to 1 point. He did agree with me that polls usually favor Democrats so that actually could be better than it even seems.
