All things "southern border" cartels designated as terrorists

I'm following this situation And am hopeful for where it may evolve.

Trump has declared the Mexican cartels as terrorist organizations. The gloves are off, that is a major policy shift and with that designation it's open season.

This story just came out today. In addition to the usual civil engineers and MPs to control the border and augment the border patrol or build the wall.... Theres a brand new development that seems to coincide with president Trump's designation of cartels as terrorist organizations. We are now deploying combat troops from the 82nd and 10th.

Here are the first Army and Marine Corps units heading to the border

US Northern Command has identified the units to which the first 1,000 soldiers and 500 Marines deploying to the southern border are assigned.

Let’s see what happens when troops or BP are fired upon by Mexican PD or cartels.

I will be pleased when the drug dealers and cartels bodies are stacked so high we no longer need a wall on the southern border. Cartels are evil and worse than some terror organizations IMO. It’s about time this was done and this was one of the best things Trump has done so far. Now to see where it leads will be interesting

I agree. I'm happy to seeing what is being thus far with the illegals too.

I think Hohman was only appointed because Vlad Tepes wasn't available.

Maybe put Hohman in charge of deportation, and Vlad in charge of border security.

Unless somehow I'm mistaken, and I do take the words used as defined and not by subjective context; Labeling the Cartels, Drug Runners, and Coyotes as "Terrorists" places them in the category of Enemy Combatant, and the use of the US Military. it's weapons, and tactics may be fully implemented the same as though we were in the Sandbox taking on the Taliban, or of Terrorists planting Bombs right here in the United States.
Bottom line is while I expect there will be Rules of Engagement to follow, the use of Lethal Force is now good to go...."Lock your Bolts to the rear and insert one, thirty round magazine into the Rifle, check your Safety and close the Bolt Chambering a Round, and prepare to fire."

They are an Enemy of the United States, and while some could be American Citizens, on the other side of the line they are considered foreign combatants and not subject to the Rights Guaranteed American Citizens on American Soil...This is an animal that hasn't been seen here since about 1812 Foreigners at out Border intent on hostile and illegal actions, and while it would be reprehensible and ostensibly illegal to shoot unarmed (obviously non-threatening) Civilians trying to cross, they should be dissuaded with non-lethal, crowd control, and stepped escalations only as required to maintain security while discouraging with prejudice the illegal crossing into the US.
War is an ugly and messy business, but nothing says obey me like a bloody head on a post.

It puts them firmly in the same category as Osama Bin Laden and opens up all the same options used there.
