When I was a kid my next door neighbor worked in a pet store apparently they had some "stuff" going on in back room... one of the locals came in with his Lionfish and said $100 it beats anything in the store. My friend told him to get lost but customer persisted... they bring him into large tank in back room and put money on table. My friend comes back with a small alligator, throws it in tank and it immediately dispatched the Lionfish ... customer was pissed! My friend just said I told you to get lost and took his $100 and showed him to the front door lol...

Apparently was a market for exotics back in the day. Wouldn't surprise me if this was something somebody acquired when it was young and cute but quickly outgrew its home and was set loose at a local pond...

This might be a good thing for the gator now. It will probably be sent off to a care facility where it will be spoiled to death, maybe a nice one out of state. It's still tiny yet and will have many years of life to live. If it wasn't captured now, the soon to be overnight freezes in the coming fall would be certain death for it in NYS.

Looks to me like the alligator identifies as a pronghorn. And although they aren't really part of the antelope family, that's what they're called. Really, they're goats, but that's neither here or there.
