Try reading the text messages laid out in the article, and you will see that if this is the type of parent raising many of our troubled youth, that as a country, we are truly fucked!
This woman openly helped and encouraged her son to murder his baby momma, - which he did! And their texts are nearly unintelligible. Some of us laughed (and cringed at the same time) when so called Ebonics was pitched. Their shit shows that it has degraded even a few notches lower.

Ebonics, for those unaware, was coined in 1973, (pre texting days), and used to describe the made up and largely illiterate speech and writing attributed to some American blacks. It was claimed that the English language spoken and written in the USA at that time did not reflect their African heritage, and that they needed their own dialect. It has only served to further isolate blacks economically and socially from mainstream American society. Most businesses will not hire someone they see as "functionally illiterate", (as described in the Oxford Dictionary, Wikipedia, and elsewhere) as they are largely unable to serve and communicate with their customers, and even fellow employees. This contributes to their difficulties getting ahead in society. But of course, those of us who would dare to NOT hire them, or to even just criticize their functional illiteracy must be racists, or so I have been told. That, and likely grammar Nazi's too.
