While I take issue with these types of checkpoints, I take more issue with those types of respondents. Not going to lie.

If you don't like the laws, there are ways to address that beyond actively ensuring that every applicable law will be enforced upon you due to your attitude.

I have to check in with security guards (who are actual police officers) to gain access to multiple locations at work. It didn't take long for them to recognize me at each location, and at that point they wave me through.

It was a simple question. Are you a US citizen? Yes. Thank you, drive on through. Now if he asked to search my vehicle, that would be a different story.

You're missing the point then. If you're passing through a checkpoint four times a day, you will be recognized eventually.

Is it easier in the short run? yes absolutely. However, answering with a simple yes or no enables them to continue with these practices and expand on them. These videos are actually helping the cause at least a little bit by showing those that are unaware that aren't in a rush or off to work, to take advantage of protecting individual rights. They can video tape it, let 100's of thousands of people around the states see what's going on, and they can judge it for what it's worth to them. It's a lot better to learn to not be intimidated. People need to wake up and start questioning why, and not just agree with everything because the other sheep are.

I read the news and sometimes in Mexico cartels pose as cops with patrol cars and everything to stop cars then
they rip them off and even kill them w/o a fight.
There is little point in protesting or video taping in this case.
I didn't hear this happening here but I was wondering how much longer until something like this happens.
After all we are importing everything from the south of the border including policies like strict gun control.

No. But any logical person can see that if passports aren't required at checkpoints 100 miles away from the border like they are at the actual border, they aren't really checking anything. The word "Yes" doesn't prove one's citizenship.

It's harassment plain and simple. Why not put these guys at the actual border? Why the harassment because a person is sick of saying "Yes"? Do they think an illegal is stupid enough to drive through such checkpoint and say the word "No"?

The videos are disturbing... And quite frankly, I'm not sure how I would react in this scenario/encounter.

For the record, I don't need to explain to any LE my citizenship status, or activities as to where I'm going/coming from. And there is no National ID requirement with the exception of a DL when operating the motor vehicle and the vehicles papers as required by law. So if I ran into INS or border patrol, away from any border and my activity was not consistent with attempting to cross a border, I wouldn't be answering that question, regardless of what the consequences were. I would then absolutely follow up with legal representation if held (seized) for non-cooperation/compliance. Usually though, there are ways to handle it, just know your roll, know what to say, and know when to say it. My mouth has gotten me "out" of just as much trouble as it's gotten me "in" to, lol.

You have no idea what you're talking about, because you display by example your unwillingness to fight for what you believe is right so you won't sacrifice your evening DOESNT for a moment mean others wouldn't do the opposite. Just because you're willing to submit to unlawful orders by LE certainly doesn't mean others are wrong just because they say it here. You have no idea who has done what, or is willing to do. But you have clearly announced what you will do, and if we are to take that at its merit, you must take then what others say as well. If you are so willing to dismiss others who post, you should refrain from posting yourself as it has little weight as you prescribe.
