Ammo background check law

Are the NYS police actually doing the NCIS check as in are they actually setting up a background check system or is the FFL just calling the NYSP and the NYSP are then calling the FBI on behalf of the FFL to check for licenses? I’d have to read it again but this is the impression I got. Also only licensable ammo will need a background check correct as in pistol and riffle ammo. I know still sucks, but that’s what it is.

Does it effect me? Not much but I still hope it doesn’t go through.
I do most of my shooting out of state now. It’s cheaper. The ranges around here charge too much and I like the ability to bring a friend to shoot handguns. Especially the ones who never shot one before. Get more to join the ranks of gun owners.

This will not effect me all that much either. I have more ammo than I will be able to shoot in a normal lifetime. I hope that all NYer's decide to purchase ammo in other States. I hope that the tax revenue from the lack of sales is great in NY.

This is why I hope it goes through.

More and more and day by day' people are waking up.

I don't think the NICS folks will go for that.

That's what put a cork in the ammo BGC last time. The law for NICS says only an FFL can use it, and only for the sale of a firearm.

Since the NYSP isn't the FFL selling the firearm, I think they would be SOL.

14 § 26. This act shall take effect on the first of September next

Online sellers need to band together and get an industry group to offer insurance against NY BS lawsuits.


Maybe the NSSF ?

Most of the sellers can't afford to be the test case, and the ones who could afford it wouldn't want to.

But $1k/year each might be low enough that they'll make enough off NY sales to cover it.

And $1k/yr for 100 sellers might be enough to put together a decent fund to cover whoever gets nailed. Maybe the big boys lay a bit more.

Yep, that thing pisses me off every time I go through it.

I'm all for securing the border.

But the border stops at the border, not 30 miles inside the US.


They actually blocked all the back roads to force all traffic from this area onto I19 so that you *have* to go through the checkpoint too.

Lots of roads that used to go all the way to Tucson and now stop, are blocked, and restart half a mile later.

If you look at a map of the US most Major citys are on the coast or border canada and mexico, approximately 75% -80% of the population.

She can try except there are already cases against this , both in NYS case law as well as SCOTUS.
Border patrol is the exception.
