When a Box of .270 Winchester goes from a retail price of $39.95 to $74.95 somebody's making bank!
It wasn't all that long ago that 9mm 115gr fmj could be had at any retail store for $9.99 a box.
All the big name Powder Brands are owned by Hodgdon...
Primer production I just don't know about, besides the Big Names falling under the Vista (now some Czech Company) Tent.

If I never purchased another round of ammunition in my life it wouldn't bother me, but there are plenty of others that "though" that one box was enough and they could always get more....that's who's paying out the ass for it now.

when a pound of powder was like was under 30 bucks is when i got into reloading starting with my 270 win ..
haven't reloaded in a few years now .. still have 100 rounds left ..
if i remember when i was reloading i was hitting like 50 to 60 cents a round doing 100 rounds at a time
copying the hornady whitetail rounds .. using sierra game king 130gr SBT #1820
primers were 30 bucks for 1000 ..
i still have enough stuff to reload 500 more ,, just need more sierra game king 130gr SBT #1820 only have 100 left ..

All the management jobs at the corporation are all college degree positions and there we go with the built in leftism of they wonder even why they are working at an ammo company.
They are have performance management where they outline objectives to meet company goals and its all about money.
This creates schemers who always trying to look good with some kind of bullshit idea.
If you walk around the parking lot and view the cars we see all the leftist favorites and then there are the bumper stickers. Gov contract may be the only reason these people are good with their jobs.
Then no one has figured out that covid made a 25% loss of productivity across the board in all jobs as it showed when they sent everyone home, but they still got their money you no longer have to work hard.

Understand this strategy is from Vista Outdoors (Federal, CCI, Blazer, American Eagle, Speer, Remington, et al) and the new Czech company that bought them.
Let me see if I understand correctly. The company is purposely losing sales and increasing inventory costs for an inditerminate amount of time because they think the inventory will magically increase in price x months down the road. What exactly is their time horizon?
