With the 4473 being ripe and likely set up for creeping infringements or future abusive overreach, maybe it is time for it to be eliminated.

Fun fact: Some state's CCW permit trumps requirement for NICS check, only requires that the 4473 be filled out and stuffed in to a file cabinet when purchasing a firearm.

Ammunition being on the 4473 is very telling to me and set up for NYS style ammo background checks for NYS and other states, if not what would they have done it?
The sterilizarion of private made guns will they need to do a 4473 then and pass a background check? Either way it’s allowed and never been tracked until now. More registration and more ways to get people felonies.

I thought the Feds previously told NY to pound sand regarding ammo checks. Have they officially changed that determination?
Is this yet another unConstitutional ATF rule change to be fought?

I’m not saying they will be doing it for NYS at this time, I’m simply saying it may happen at some point. I have the same understanding you do on the FBI saying no but I find it very interesting that it is now on the 4473 form under a liberal president when a few liberal states have ammo background checks.
What I’m wondering is if the NYSP will now instruct FFL’s to use the 4473 form for the CCIA ammo background checks that are supposed to be coming 4/23. Of some one some where won’t be using the 4473 for ammo background checks why would ammo be added? The only other thing I could think of is Biden and the ATF trying to do some backdoor forced USA wide ammo check?? Again I just don’t see why ammo is even on the 4473.
