I thought this might be a useful thread for all of us still searching for the elusive unicorn with a winning lottery ticket stapled to its ass being chased by a leprechaun holding a pot of gold and the approved repeal of the Safe Act in his hands( seems to be easier to find than ammunition)

If ya find some post what caliber and where!

I don't even bother locally anymore as most places have closed up shop and if I do stumble on something, it's so overpriced.

Been fortunate occasionally. Found some in Henrietta NY at sportsman's warehouse (100 rds 42 bucks) but generally been pretty scarce. Other than that best I've seen is a buck a round for FMJ which is ridiculous. Checked out the search above with no luck. Thought the thread might be helpful to some

I’ve been to cabelas and gander outdoors recently and they had only .22 lr, some off caliber riffles cartridges and shot gun shells.
Gander outdoors had some .40 cal and 6.8 SPC I bought. I can’t find anything reasonably on line though either.

Was there last week and they had bricks of 22lr for sale. Stuff evaporates quicker than a friend who promises help

Wouldn't sell a slug... And I'm usually cavalier about shooting, knowing I can just go get more if low (<1k rounds...) But now? No way! I got the hungerleider (cheap) going! Especially my .357Sig rounds... Nobody has it

Slugs are in short supply? I got a bunch, haven't used a shotgun for deer hunting since 2005 when Oswego County changed the regs to include rifles.

Optics Planet just started selling ammo and has everything in stock and it's not overly inflated. Tried ordering... No dice here in NY. Called a buddy in PA. He ordered 6 cases for me.

Dicks Webster on Sunday had a lot of 9mm as well, I bought some boxes also at $12.99. They had a lot of rifle cartridges but no 223 that I saw, no 22, and not much pistol ammo though they did have some .40

I have stuff slowly accumulating at my in laws in Micihigan (random box of this and that getting picked up by my FiL here and there). I'm good on supply for now and hopefully that will be delivered in person in November.

I stopped at wally's in Gates and picked up a couple boxes of 30-06 and 7mm mag (don't remember the $$) Got home and saw I didn't have room in the ammo cabinet for the 06 so I put it with the extra stuff in the garage. Got out there and found I already had 240 rounds of "extra" 06 ammo out there! I really need to make a list and get organized!

Got out there and found I already had 240 rounds of "extra" 06 ammo out there! I really need to make a list and get organized!

Walmart in Gates? Last I looked there ( week or 2 ago) they were pretty picked over. Do they even sell 5.56 or 2.23 anymore? I heard through the grapevine ( don't know if this is valid) they were one of the ones that were going to stop selling ammo for those "scary black rifles "......

Lol. I personally pick it up whenever/ wherever I can find it. Sportsman's warehouse, dicks ,local gun shops. Try to check every few days or so

And after stopping at Wally world my hunch is confirmed, no longer carrying "scary black rifles " ammunition.

Funny thing, after asking an associate why, the response was " To stop mass shootings ".

After a long discussion, ya know, using these odd things called "facts and statistics ", they no longer knew why they stopped. He just stated " that's just what they told us".

Good luck finding anything in bulk less than 0.50/round. I’ve been looking for weeks now online to get a 1000 round case or .223/9mm. I’m kicking myself as I was going to get 2,000 rounds of .223 and 1,000 rounds of 9mm right before this shit hit but thought nah I’ll wait.

Before sandy hook you could get it for 8-18 cents a round. Now it is between 30-50 cents a round

I believe they stopped selling 5.56 but still sell .223 (didn't see any) No handgun ammo at all but had a fair selection of common rifle calibers. I think I even saw a box or two of the evil 7.62x39

They have also stopped selling 223. Spoke with an associate ( see my post in thread from 5 pm yesterday).

With regards to that post I also thought what the associate said.......seems like it's done a lot of good (sarcasm)
