A properly sized allen wrench works wonders. The flats on it help a LOT.

I use a razor blade to hold it down. Takes 2 seconds to slide the pin in and you're done.

Tried that myself for the second attempt and it worked ok.

I use an Xacto knife to the same effect, works like a charm.
