Of course because of COVID. Ridiculous. So bringing in people one person at a time is too dangerous for the county sheriff. They said the will call back sometime in March to reschedule.
And fingerprint date just cancelled for Rockland County...

I had the state troopers do my prints for me once to get a background check. I don't think they even charged for them. I know Putnam is still doing prints but not sure for how much longer if the numbers keep rising. I know they stopped for a few weeks when this crap all started.

I’d call them and politely ask if you can’t service my finger print needs can I get them done some other means. There are private companies that do this. No reason these shouldn’t be accepted.

Just had mine done this morning by the NYS Police, (in anticipation of another failed NICS check, even with a UPIN, another story.) Anyhow, in , out in 5 minutes , no charge , no appointment. Even had a delightful conversation with the sweet attractive Trooper doing them about AK’s and how we better get what we want now. Not sure if this helps so take it FWIW.

I will call and ask... I did send in a report to FPC just in case they are looking into it. I suspect due to COVID it will be hard to force them to keep the appts. I’m not going to get pushy since I’m sure they will make a ”notation” on my permit which would be used to screw me... and not in the nice way

The restaurants just won a law suit to reopen and operate under the yellow guidelines because their constitutional rights were violated. I’m sure you could get something done. So update on this... Still waiting for Sheriff to call and reschedule fingerprints. In Rockland it has to be them so I have no options.
BUT... our clerk is being pro-active and requested that I drop off the packet of paperwork and they are continuing to keep the ball moving on their end. When we get contacted about the new fingerprint date, the clerk will bring the packet up to the sheriff so it's there for our appointment. So at least our clerk ( who happens to be democrat ) is not anti-gun rights. They very well could have just left us hanging in limbo.
I made sure to mention I was very pleased with their efforts to keep the process from stopping due to the fingerprinting issue.

Fingerprints were taken a few weeks ago.... so now I just watch the days go by and wait for the letter informing me of the outcome. I have no doubt we will be approved but how long it will take...
