Another FNG

Hey all. Name is Jared. New to the world of firearms and am in the process of obtaining my pistol permit in Livingston County. Been lurking here for a bit and decided I finally should introduce myself. Anyway, My main hobbies besides spending time with the wife and kids, are riding my new to me harley, smoking and collecting cigars and messing around with my 350z. Turned in my permit application on 12/29/16 and did my phone interview with a Sheriff today. Hoping to have my permit soon. Thinking my first carry gun will be the shield 9mm. It was between that, the xds 9 and the pps m2. Shot the shield and xds and the shield just felt a bit better. The pps m2 was just something I had been reading up on. But never shooting it, and not having any place around here that rents that gun, will probably just wind up with the shield. Looking forward to learning and contributing to the forum. Appreciate ya!

Secondly
I know you can't get rid of the wife and kids but you can build a bunker in the basement to eliminate that distraction
