I am 100% calling BULLSHIT on this. I have seen a lot of blood from a lot of beatings, hell.. both on myself and others, and this.. this ain't it.
First of all she takes a selfie immediately after.. sure, a politician would do that, but bright red blood that thin would have to be moments after and actively bleeding. Where the hell did that splatter come from ? . No actual visible wounds or injury at all, just a perfectly made up sour-puss with random fake blood. This MIGHT have happened, but that picture is absolutely fake as hell.

Had the same thought myself, not even good fake blood.
Now that I've inspected it more closely, I'm somewhat convinced there is at least partially digital editing, I have expertise in this because it's what I do.. and I would have done a much better job. I can't be certain because it's obviously significantly degraded from an original photo so you'd expect plenty of artifacting, but even so there are some signs of editing.
Doesn't really matter in any case, still fake.
