I generally dont think they are if you are talking .223.
I did install them on my AR9 as the blowback design and nature of that gun tends to run rougher on the internals overall vs. direct impingement.

Anti walk pins are frequently used with one piece drop in triggers because many of them do not have spring tension against the pins to keep them from walking out. Mil-spec triggers use the springs to keep the pins from moving. If your particular gun has a problem with pins moving, then $15 is a good fix. Some anti walk pins are slightly oversized to eliminate slop in the hammer or trigger's movement. That is another barrel of fish.
I use them for my drop in triggers. Some people also report needing/using them for 80% builds.
