Any experience with SWFA scopes?

SWFA SS 3-15x42 Tactical Rifle Scope Kit SFP MOA-Quad



I've seen these advertised for many years, never seen one at the range. Does anyone have first hand experience with them? I'm looking a at a 3-15 x 42 unit (one of them). Quality or super novelty?

A friend had a fixed 10x on one of his .308 rifles. Seemed like a solid piece of glass for the money. Good clarity, and the mechanics all seemed well built.

I stopped using variable scopes and went to straight powers on all my optics after having a run of bad luck with variable scopes changing POI when power was adjusted. That aside, I have a SWFA straight 16x Milrad. It sits on a Cooper 21 Varmint in 17 Rem. Seems like a great scope. Definitely a good alternative to a Leupold & worth the price if you can find a used one. Think I paid $200 for it.

I have 2 fixed power SWFA scopes. They are very nice. I would not hesitate on their 3-15

Use first focal plane scopes and this won't happen.

The have a good rep in the airgun world where the double recoil will destroy most cheap scopes.

Idk about their variable powered models but their 10x are built to Army spec for a bid to go attop their M24 sniper rifles. Great tracking and great glass for what you pay. Havent heard bad about their variables aside from statistical variance of a few lemons.
