Anybody ever converted a Walther PPK/S to a different caliber?

I picked up a new to me Walther PPK/S .22LR stainless model today for almost nada. It's a damn nice looking gun. I know they also make it in .32 and .380 caliber, but the stainless ones are damned expensive. I do see that there are a lot of parts available, and was wondering if anyone on here has ever converted one to a different caliber? If I could pick up the needed parts to convert it, it might make for a fun .380 carry gun. Just a possible project for my spare time.

Anyone has any thoughts about how to do it, or has done it, please let me know!

Also picked up a SIG P238 for similar price that needs nothing, and has never even been fired. It's been a good day!

The 238 is an Excellent carry... It will like to eat a few hundreds rounds to fully 'break in'. I remember them being 'tight' when new. Weird is that the 238 seems to need a really tight hold to shoot well, don't be too relaxed on the grip. For me anyways

There is a mag 'mod' to allow for an extra (+1) round per mag (7 to 8) if ya have the extended mag, so then you'll have 8+1... Works well for me, tried and tested.

Remora holsters makes a small pouch type pocket thingy that fits 2 mags perfectly. Can side or pocket carry mags securely...

I would have to believe that there are very few parts that are interchangeable between the rimfire and the centerfire PPK series of pistols. Nearly every part would need to be changed in order to convert it from .22 rimfire to .380 auto. Probably the sights are interchangeable, but not much else. I seriously doubt that the frame is the same between the two. Since that's the "gun", there can be no conversion. If you had a .380 and wanted to make it a .32, well then maybe.

Stop by some evening and I'll let you try a .380 mag in your gun. Better yet, why don't you just buy my stainless PPK from me ? Then you'd have a matching set ! It's been sitting in the safe unused since the early 90's. I have 4 factory magazines, about 6 holsters, and whatever ammo is on the shelf, as well as the original box and paperwork. I'm sure we could come to an agreement on a reasonable price.
