Rifles for turkey would float more if idiots would stop shooting each other over the sound of a turkey. I had to leave an area I was bowhunting for deer last year because some doofus came out into the field and started blasting at pheasants. I yelled to the guy about 10 times before he realized I was just off the field, even though I had a bright bandana tied to a tree in the area I was sitting. For there to be rifles in NY for turkey, we need to cure stupid first.I have two woodchucks with a 22lr and FINALLY two bastard red squirrels after switching to a 20 gauge .
If only NYS would do the right thing and allow rifles for Turkey hunting I'd consider it.
Same here.Or are we just here to talk politics?
Song birds are going crazy but not a peep from a Tom.

Good luck to anyone else out here.
Tough weather for sure. Then it will be so leafed out and hard to see after the rain. I never get out spring turkey hunting and usually try to in the fall. Spring is too busy for me with all the house and yard work. I have not spring turkey hunted since I was a teenager.Nasty weather for the next 6 days. I'll hunt deer in iffy weather, but I don't love turkey hunting enough to get soaked or have to tear my shotguns apart to clean them over 4 pounds of meat.
