I don’t think anything has changed. I know in the budget they made a few very minor changes but nothing of that magnitude.I haven't heard anything official on the signage.

Update: Part Two, the return flight to Charlotte, NC:So I have flown a number of times with my EDC over the last 10 years. But this last time (this weekend) has been different so far.
Came up to visit my kids,- flew Charlotte to Cleveland on Frontier and then drove to Buffalo. I’m used to checking my bag in; telling them I have a firearm; they had me fill out and sign an orange declaration card that it is unloaded, etc., putting that in my suitcase, and then waiting around for TSA agent to come out to the ticket counter, take me into a back room to have me open the locked hard case with my EDC for them to inspect it, etc., and to then go thru TSA and board the plane. And upon arrival, to have to go to the baggage office at baggage claim and show ID in order to pick it up.
This time was a bit different.
Checked in at Frontier and declared it. Filled out the card, and put it in my suitcase. They said to wait around about 10 minutes before going thru TSA in case TSA would want to inspect it. They did call TSA, and put my bag on a “different” baggage conveyor than other people’s bags. No one from TSA came to inspect it or called me back either. Went thru TSA and boarded the plane. In Cleveland, went looking for Frontier Baggage Claim office to claim it, but hey were closed! And my bag was just on the carousel where anyone could have picked it up and walked off with it! WTF?
Not sure if the fact that my boarding pass was TSA Pre had anything to do with that as I have had that for years using my Nexus pass? Maybe TSA was short staffed? Or they have changed their procedures? Or maybe because I was flying into a “free state”?
Also visited a good friend who just got their permit in NY. He told me that the law in NY had just changed and now signs permitting concealed carry were no longer required as of a couple of weeks ago!!! I told him I was pretty sure that WAS NOT the case, and that he should be very careful. Anybody else in New Yorkistan hear anything about that?
I’m wondering why they are just tossing them on the carousel. Seems weird to me. Was yours tagged with dont place on the carousel?Update: Part Two, the return flight to Charlotte, NC:
So, we flew back last night from Cleveland to Charlotte, NC on Frontier. Basically, the exact same thing as the outbound flight. Declared it at the baggage counter; filled out and signed their orange tag (check the 3 declarations re the firearm unloaded, etc.); placed it in the suitcase on top of the locked metal case, closed the suitcase, and they threw it on the conveyor. They didn't even call TSA that I saw. Got to Charlotte, and there was my suitcase on the luggage carousel.
No. There were no special tags put on it when they put it on their conveyor, and there was nothing different on it when I got it off the carousel. Also, the baggage tag put on it was the one I printed out at their check-in kiosk BEFORE I went to the actual check-in counter to check my bag, which was before I declared I had a firearm.I’m wondering why they are just tossing them on the carousel. Interesting. Mine had a tag saying do not place on carousel and they(Delta) wouldn’t let me check in online. I should have asked the girl if there was a note in the file but the lady I spoke to online said there was. The note said I had paperwork to fill out before getting checked in. All that paperwork was to sign the Orange unloaded tag.No. There were no special tags put on it when they put it on their conveyor, and there was nothing different on it when I got it off the carousel. I am not particularly comfortable with the way this was handled by Frontier. ANYONE could have picked my bag off of the carousel and strolled off with it, - there wasn't even anyone to stop them and match bag tags with baggage receipts like I have seen previously at some airports.Interesting. Delta enacted some goofy policies regarting firearms after someone went apeshit and shot a bunch of people in an airport. I think it may have been in Florida. They were pretty much alone in their goofiness though.Interesting. Mine had a tag saying do not place on carousel and they(Delta) wouldn’t let me check in online.
