Anyone Have a Ruger 77/357???

Looking for info on the Ruger 77/357 or 77/44. Heavily considering picking one up in the next few weeks and would like to hear about them.

Considering the 357 over the 44. The goal is to also pickup a revolver in same caliber and i'm not to interested in a 44 mag revolver. Plus I can use 38's and plink with which is more or less the main goal of both. Make a great bug out setup with full loading's too.

Nope. That's totally different. Tha'ts like a 10/22 but in 44 mag. Semi auto. The ones I am talking about are bolt action.

Regardless I feel that's an exceptional deal for one of those if in nice shape.

I have the 77/357, what a GREAT SHOOTING RIFLE!.
I bought it just for deer hunting back there in New Yorkistan. I have so many 357 revolvers that I could pair it up with, but the two I favor the most is my 6" stainless Ruger GP100 in 357 magnum or my 7&1/2" stainless Ruger Redhawk in 357 magnum.

The 77/357 I have is stainless with the synthetic stock.
Here is a video of my six year old grandson shooting it.



I bought a old vintage Weatherby scope for it and it was froze up, I couldn't turn the adjustments to get it sighted in.
So I bought a 3X9 Nikon scope for it, what a POS scope so I took it off to mount on a 22lr rifle and I bought a 2X7 Burris for now. I'll have to get pictures of the targets next time out shooting.
Here is the target with the Weatherby scope on it, nice grouping but couldn't adjust it, five shots factory ammo.

I have a stainless 77/22magnum with the paddle boat stock and a blue/wood stock 77/22 Hornet.

My next rifle will be a stainless Ruger 77/44 magnum, I already bought two stainless 44 magnum Ruger Redhawks to pair up with this 77/44. Both are 7&1/2" one is the old style redhawk and the other is a super redhawk. I need to get a scope for the Super Redhawk.

I like pairing handguns up with rifles, I have three T/C Contenders with several barrels in the rifle calibers I have. The 14" contender in 35 Remington is a sweet shooting handgun caliber, the list goes on & on.

Once this National Resip get in place I'll be able to legally bring my handguns back to New Yorkistan for deer hunting.

Don't hesitate on buying one, you'll fall in love with it.

i also have one, a 77/357!
I love it and have it paired with my smith 686P.
it shoots anything you put in it reliably.
I tried to keep peep sights on it, but it begs for a scope!
i have been shopping for a scope for it.

I and just getting started with reloading so i will be shooting more once the ammo is cheap.

(44 special is an incredible round!)

i also put in a Volquartzen trigger or Sear? and an extended mag release for a 77/22. (the push button sucks!)

Thanks guys. You are making it real hard not to buy one. I do not have any revolvers yet but my plan is to pair it with the new Ruger Redhawk 8 round 2.75" barrel. Smaller version of the Alaskan

Why such a short barrel on the revolver? I'd go atleast with a six inch, they shoot so much better then the stubbies.

I'm going to pick up a leupold vx-r scope for the 77/357. It has the illuminated dot, but it will be my deer hunting gun.
It shoots decent with the 2x7 Burris that I have on it now.

I did load up a bunch of 357 cartridges with Wad-Cutter bullets, They would not feed in the rifle. I'll be using either 158 gr. or 180 grain Hornady XTP bullets in it.

Buy stainless and buy used, you'll get your money back out of it when you are done using it.

$40, which is amazing around here. There’s a gun smith by my precinct who does transfers for $86!
