anyone have a Williams Peep site on a Marlin

I was looking at Williams peepsite, but I can not seem to find anything that will fit a 1895G

They have a site for the 336? but not for the 1895, will the 336 site fit on a 1895G??

Williams sight website makes reference to fitting a pre 2001 Model 1895G.

yep, I could put a picitinny rail on the gun if I wanted. But I want to keep the gun as 'clean' as possible. I don't really want a scope on it. BUT! it may come to that with my old eyes

If it is D & T on the L SIDE the Williams peep will work according to their website.

it is not drilled and tapped on the side, only on the top

Yep, the gun makers saved a buck or two by not tapping holes on the side. I hunted for years with a peep sight on my Marlin. I wonder if the new Remington and Winchester bolt actions are drilled and tapped.
