It's all smoke and mirrors. Per usual the left over reaches and ends up stepping on their own feet. What they have been successful at though, is scratching away the layers of insulation most Americans have encased themselves in and the result is and will be a frightful push back and possible violent rejection of the left all together.

Actually the largest proponents of defunding the police in the government have backed off of it because the increase in crime has scared people and their constituents lost support for it. To my knowledge not much defunding if police has occurred. A bit ny NYC and LA but that’s all I’m aware of. Some changes on the horizon for sure but nowhere near what they were calling for.

AKA - changing their TTP to fit the new battlespace...one they did much to modify to their advantage. They've changed the ROE significantly, and with good success.
IMHO, the next wave will be more widespread and deeper into "our" AO. There will also be a redeployment of the hard core street fighters, and the Soy Boy Brigades will not be so prominent.
The violence will increase - Antifa/BurnLootMurder has already committed straight up political murder at least twice, in the open.
Use of repurposed and field expedient "weapons" (bricks, frozen water bottles, high end fireworks, etc) will morph into more traditional and deadly weaponry.
It will only get worse as the election approaches, and the intensity of violence will increase through the election and the post-election shitstorm.

I really think the defunding police thing is the stupidest--by a long stretch--of the ideas from the radical left think tank. Even stupider than aoc's banning of planes and cross continental ocean trains or whatever the hell she wants.
I fully expect violence if Trump wins the election. Shortly after a few boxes of ballots will be found full of Democratic Party ballots. Then violence will resume from the right. Etc etc etc
Looking back, all our presidential elections were about nothing of relevance to real life or real problems. Mud slinging, scare tactics and eloquently worded nonsense. Black lives matter is just another example of fabricated non-issue. There are also examples of this on the republican side, but I will leave it at that.
