We do something similar, but much faster, at the camp I go to.

They're strung up to a tree by the neck. We sawsall the legs at the same spot shown in the video, then cut the hide in a circle around the neck. We pull that hide back from that cut at the neck a little bit, to the point that we can wrap a ball (think golf ball or trailer ball) under the hide. We then tie a rope around the ball (which is wrapped in hide), attach the other end of the rope to a truck, and slowly drive away. The hide strips right off.

I'll try to remember to get a video of it next year to show you guys.

IMHO he wastes too much meat. I dont get many deer so I even take off neck and rib meat for the grind bucket.

if you got the time doing it your self .. go for it ..

I'll try n do it this way now .. and not pay 70 to 100 bucks for someone else ..

so i looses a few pounds ..

section the neck out .. .. improve on his method ..

this could even be done in the field .. and tossed in a back pack carry out ..
