I saw hundreds of these in Ocean City MD. I wondered why I don't see them in NY.
If you reduce your electric bill with solar or wind, is not the taxes on those bills that NY collects then reduced?
How long do you think the overlords in Albany will allow such untaxed theft of sunshine and air, their air and sunshine, to continue. They own it and if you use it you gotta pay!

I watched a video and this guys says for the most part not worth it. I’ll watch some more to see what other think. My concern is I do not have extra property and I do not have a lot of south facing roof space and I have some large trees around. Every calculator I do for solar says I’m at a net negative so solar makes little sense to me.

I would do the work myself and o would put maybe a few on my garage since I’m on a hill and the wind whips around my house into a funnel effect in that area. I wonder if I could get some sort of wind speed monitor and monitor it for a few months.

I bought one ($300 chinese special) a couple years ago. The thing works, but I am not in a spot where there is consistent wind. I believe its claimed to be 400w but like 75-150 is more realistic even when the wind is really blowing. Its a novelty at best for me, right up there with my micro turbine.

No. Too much maintenance.

As Calvary listed.. a cheap wind turbine costs $300 for a 400 watt rated one (and that's generous) when you can get a 400 watt panel for about the same price. Solar doesn't require a huge tower, is way less maintenance, has less parts to break, etc.
