Cuomo said today the cities need to reshape the PD’s or they will not get state funding. Cuomo spelt blamed trump and feds for budget deficients and said tax increases will be so high your head will spin if not bailed out. Also said wealth tax, millionaires tax, and many other taxes for the rich are on the table. Said NYC is so filthy right now and so over run by homeless that it smells so bad he is thinking of sending in national guard to help clean up the city. Said defund the police but police need to arrest more people and aren’t doing their jobs. Also doesn’t think people are going to return to NYC and blamed church and religious gatherings for Covid increases. He wants an iron fist on enforcement.
All this while no mask and not socially distant from his left and right neighbor.
Not sure how much of it is in this clip or article but wow he’s one scary dude.

They raise taxes and I have two on-the-table options: Lancaster, PA or Kyle, TX. I have family in both those places.

I work remote. My wife works remote (for at least the next year it looks like). Cuomo better not test me or he'll get nothing from me.

I don't see why we need to regulate private business at all here.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big believer in using masks, and I don't frequent businesses that won't mandate them. I think most people who want to be protected are going to choose businesses that have good health practices, regardless. That's not something to force on people, however, since they're private.

Yeah, being at a bar is a risk. No one has to go to the bar. I certainly won't be. If people want to go and assume that risk, let them. The war on drugs didn't work, so I don't think this will work either. Private business is private. That's not the state's role bring in regulation there. Leave it alone, and let people assume what risks they want in private.

The only thing the state should be doing is ensuring public areas are safe for everyone / have mandates. Trains, buses, parks, etc. Those are owned by all taxpayers, so we need to make sure we all have access.

Just my two cents.

I agree. 100%. Nearly all PD need to revamp and do things differently. There is too much wrong in the way we Police here in the State and throughout the entire Country.

While we are at the revamping of these Departments, Americans really need to have a serious conversation about the communities and the cultures within our boarders.

Im not in LE, but its seems to me that the cops just need to do ONE THING, once the bad guy is in hand cuffs, its done deal, STOP! Regardless of the crime committed, once they apprehend the bad guy, put him in cuffs, STOP!! Just put him/her/it, in the car and STOP!

now, I understand that human nature is a tough thing to control, especially when there is a shit-ton of adrenalin and fear involved. And the bad guy is fighting back, but with all the publicity, LE must reign in the aggression.

Problem is that the politically uneducated, ignorant dem voters believe EVERYTHING he says.....period.
They will vote dem every time, no matter what. We cannot win against pure ignorance and stupidity. The dem voters have been voting against their best interest for decades. Especially blacks.

Race isn't bad. Cultures can be bad.

Race you're born with. Culture you choose. There's a big difference.

The problem is that once you start making this distinction, the libs start with the argument "no, that's racist because race and culture are too intertwined."

They don't like the idea that people are breaking down the association of the two and realizing one does not follow the other. For people to do this would destroy a lot of their arguments and accusations of racism, because so many accusations of racism hinge the equation of the two. Statements such as "you just don't like Arab people" in response to criticizing their choice to be Muslims. The two are not one and the same.

I have said this over and over, I will repeat myself one more time...

I do not think we have a race issue in the US. I think we have a serious cultural issue and an issue within some communities.

Clean those up, hold members of these communities accountable and we have near Utopia.

What we're talking about here is a critical deep dive into race and culture. That's what call-out-culture is meant to kill -- the dialogue. No one wants to risk the conversation.

Outside of these forums, I wouldn't risk it. Certainly not at work with most people.

There needs to be an effort, either overtly or covertly, to cancel people who promote cancel culture. We have to actively stand united against this type of behavior as it is directly opposite the idea of "bringing people to the table" for a real talk.
