I’m not seeing why this is a bad thing? Should this be celebrated instead of saying people need to be punished by raising interest rates? I get they were super low before, but the headline makes it seem like this is a bad thing now. I can’t wait for Biden to grasp at this straw.

The economics of this are not difficult to understand. Too much cash chasing too few goods. Inflation will be running (ruining?) 8-10% for the next 3 years.

I'm glad I'm not the average American... But the number is embarrassing, something like $1,000 unexpected bill. The debt to income ratio is obscene! The average US Citizen saves something like $60,000 for retirement. The average SS check is like $1,500 per month. And yet, they identify a class of citizen that they feel deserve special attention and remediation above others! So they print "TRILLIONS" 2,000,000,000,000.00 to be exact. The nation's debt is beyond remedy as well, we are so far down the rabbit hole there's no telling if we could ever recover from this. So much so, that the U.S. dollar is about to be decentralized, not used as boyancy for other currencies any longer. Wait for that shit to happen and we may free float and fall even further (economically)...

I’m sure glad I’m way better off than the average American. I have 22 years left to work and I’ll have a pension of $50,000-$60,000 and I have $200,000 in our 401k and about $80,000 in my savings accounts. In the next 5-10 years I’ll be able to start growing my wealth at an exponential rate as well.
