Actually you use this little piece of plastic and slide it down depressing the silver pin right above the FC roll mark in the pic and thats it. Takes 2 seconds to do that then unscrew it

Addressing the double feed with an FC Hook: use a PMAG!
If a double feed occurres: put on the safety; remove the PMAGs floor plate; drop the spring, follower and cartriges. Then use a tool to reach up there and clear any cartridge that has not dislodged by removing the magazine parts.

You press the detent plunger and your release button at the same time to get the mag catch passed through while the detent plunger locks the mag catch on the outside. Then reverse the installation process.

That doesn't work when the double feed is on the feed lips of the magazine itself. You still need to jam a screwdriver in there. Regardless, if used for defense, one double feed renders the rifle inoperable.
