They are complete barrels with out the gas port. They just are not contoured, threaded or crowned.

That’s a different interpretation of the word blank. To me a barrel blank is one that has not had the bore/rifling done and is just a solid cylindrical hunk of metal.

Tap the gas port and put a allen screw in it and stake it ..
just a idea that came to mind .. or put a gas block on it and offset it so it blocks the hole .

I recently swapped my 20" threaded with a new 24" threaded, put some rocksett on the thread protector. From what I've read is if you soak it in water for a time you should be able to get it off without marring the finish with a wrench. If time comes where I'm told not good enough I already have the do it yourself crowning tools from brownells and they work great.
