I am hunting with a 10 round this year and putting a block in it. I researched the law to the extent that I am personally satisfied that it is legal to block a mag with a piece of wood. Why spend $25 on a mag when a bit of wood will do fine in your $15 10 round mags?
This is the closest I have found to an official answer on whether blocking is acceptable. For me, this is good enough.
