AR9 pistol...can I have one?

I tried searching but to no avail.

Can I get this 8" or 10.5" 9mm upper from PSA , one of their 9mm AR lowers ( currently in stock at my LGS) , replace the stock with a Shockwave and have a legal pistol ?

I'm going off of memory so I could be wrong, but here my take. In order to have a NY legal AR pistol it needs to have a fixed magazine regardless of the caliber. With that said there's another loophole that you might be comfortable exploiting, that would be making not a semi automatic. There are bolt interrupters out there that would accomplish this. Their legality is firm in the grey area is a risk.

I read other AR pistol threads and they all pertain to rifle calibers ( 5.56 /300) , which probably does not make a diff.
They mention the 50 oz rule which the fixed mag negates.
Then there is the P-12 paperwork. I do not know nor do I think that the lowers were imported with the intent to build a pistol.

The LGS was going to make the lowers "fixed mag" to use them as a PCC with the 16" PSA upper he had in stock.

The big issue with a fixed mag PCC is how go load the mag. Rifle rounds are doable to load fixed in the gun(not fun or easy). To load a fixed pistol magazine must be difficult. I haven't tried but it seems like it would be.

If built with a rifle caliber 5.56/300blk using a mean arms loader speeds up that considerably. Couple that with a easily removable fixed mag floor plate (Magpul etc..) it's not that bad considering how fucked up it is in the 1st place that we even have to do that just to own what free state folks can take for granted.

Hmmmm isn’t there an issue since you said it was a completed rifle lower and you would replace the stock with a shockwave ??? I believe (may be wrong) that since it was manufactured as a long gun it can not be legally converted to a handgun Old thread I know but are there any thoughts on this ?

Correct. Cannot make it a pistol.

I did not.
After looking onto it, assessing my current collection, the LGS relocating to AZ and getting sick last fall and still out of work, I went a different route.

I did get this last week though.
Not near as exciting but more of a necessity.

Dang dude! Been there. Nice zipper. When they pulled the drain tubes it was one of the weirdest sensations I ever had. First week really sucks, and the second week sucks too, particularly if you get blockheaded and think you can power through without pain management. Get into rehab as soon as they offer it to you, and listen to your rehab folks, 'cause they really do know what they're talking about. Pretend your're training for some kind of athletic shit, 'cause you are, it's called life. Best of luck!

And Im not sure. But if I can transfer it and add a lower with 556 as caliber to my permit, Im not gonna ask anymore questions.

I hear you bout the drains. Chest bled air through the holes for a couple days.

I have had Zero pain. May have taken Tylenol three times post op.
Surgery on Tuesday, on Friday I walked the halls and made it to 4 laps ( 3 laps is 1/4 mile)
