I've had a thermal rifle scope for some time now and haven't settled on a proper home for it yet. Been looking for something in the IR arena, especially something I could mount on one of my crossbows.
Carved out some time to get it mounted and sighted in. Had to make a shim for the picatinny rail as this was designed as a rifle scope so it maxxed out it's vertical adjustment range at such short distances. Made it a +1 MOA "washer" mount.
Chose to go with the option of the integral range finder as they are available with and without. Now I don't have a ton of experience with IR scopes but I can say that I'm blown away with this thing. I can't think of any feature it doesn't have that I'd want. Setup cam with (2) batteries and a charging station. Can be plugged in directly to a USB-C cord for charging the battery right inside the scope if you choose.
Here's some of the highlights:
* Downloadable ballistics app. Program your data into the app. Range your distance. Press range again and ballistic are incorporated into the reticle (of which there are many to choose from in MIL and MOA, also various colors). Will auto adjust the reticle or provide a holdover marker on the reticle.
* Reticles and settings can be saved for different guns / xbows. Choose the ballistics data in the app and choose the reticle that the data matches and you're in business.
* 5-20 power magnification. Adjustable with a rotating dial instead of pushbutton. LOVE that. FFP setup so reticle enlarges with higher magnification.
* Video record capability on SD card. I think it has an auto record feature but haven't played with that much yet. Has different length record loop settings.
* Adjustable IR intensity. I haven't had it out at night a ton and want to get to some longer ranges to experience visibility distances.
* Menu setting and interface are relatively simple....once you have a little practice.
* The video quality is ridiculously clear and the image quality in the scope is amazing....and adjustable.
Just a quick vid sighting it in at 20 yards:

This is available for $ 699.00 on the Arken website and mine arrived in probably less than 2 weeks. Optics
I'll update this as I spend more time using it.
