And didn’t a number of departments change protocol for school shootings for officers to go in ASAP and not wait for backup? The faster you find and engage the shooter the sooner the incident ends and the lower the death count.

I also wonder about why the delay in reporting this. The Sheriff in the video(s) said he made his decision to suspend the deputy after reviewing the video. And, just to be clear, it wasn't an "armed guard". It was an on duty LEO.
