Ronald Stolarcyzk shot two intruders in May who were breaking into his home, police said. He was originally charged with criminal possession of a firearm. That charge was dropped Monday night.

That is what bothers me too... it shouldn't even be allowed. If it a judge says the incident occurred in self defense, all charges dropped, the hammer drops, NO other lawsuits should be able to be brought up after that. Both criminal and civil.

No different than when you settle up with an insurance company. Once you sign, that you are all good with what got settled, you can't ask for more afterwards.
