TACOMA, Wash. — A policy miscommunication led to the barring of six state DOC officers from a local Cheesecake Factory.

DOC employee Miriam Nichols posted on the restaurant’s Facebook Tuesday that she and five other employees walked in wearing their uniforms, badge, and guns.

“We were told the guns are not allowed,” she wrote. “Whether you are law enforcement or not, they are not welcome.”

Should an issue with a hostile entity arise at the establishment with that manager, police should refuse to enter the premises until all individuals inside discard their firearms since the police cannot enter the property with their firearms.

Makes me wonder. If the coppers showed up at my house for some kind of call or questioning - could I say "this is a private residence, firearms are not welcome here." Doubt that would work out in my favor.

I am sure if some crazy person showed up with a weapon and didnt follow their "no gun guidelines" they would gladly welcome them back.

I'm fine with no guns for everyone, but then it applies to calls for service also. If I cannot enter a location while on an on-duty break due to my firearm, then I cannot enter it for emergencies either. Can't have it both ways. If it is no firearms at all, then it must be consistent.

I hate their food. The cheesecake ok, but I won't go there anymore. I've only been there a few times in my life so I don't really mind not going their anyway. Plus the only one by me is in the galleria mall. It's a cess pool.
