It is his right to be an asshole. But regardless, this guy wasn't. He complied and made it known that he was a fucking reporter which the cop didn't like.
So what you guys are basically saying is to look the other way on someone getting their rights infringed on because they are assholes or skells.
What if some Westchester cop decides that I'm a skell for whatever reason? Would that be okay too? What if he just didn't like my attitude because he told me not to film and I said that it was my fucking right to?
You both just admitted that it's okay as long as the people getting their rights violated deserve it for one reason or another.

Conveniently now we are having more and more interactions recorded, so there’s really no more guessing or assuming who the asshole is.
Now that I know our policy for cameras, I’m getting antsy to finally start wearing one. Supposedly Jan 1.
I didn’t say anything difectly regarding the cops’ behavior, though indirectly I made clear that I wouldn’t take the action they did. I stated that people like this reporter don’t get a rise out of me, they make me question society. They make me shake my head.
It is a valid question to consider where the line is between encouraging this type of public behavior (which seems fairly common nowadays) and supporting free speech.

When you deviate from that even for the greater good, you get the Safe Act.

The "BIRD" is a protected form of speech as affirmed by the SCOTUS and no local ordinance can supersede that ruling...
Just make sure the cameras are rolling and say CHA Ching!!!!! When you're denied your freedom by being arrested for exercising your protected speech!
