Helping family affected by the Texas hurricane, requires that I part with some very fine examples of Art Knives, some 1 of a kind, made by some of the finest makers of the 1980’s. Names like Herron, Sornberger, Dagget, Tomes, Viele, Lum, Kious, Horn, Centofante, McBurnett, Holder, Papp, Beaver, Sigman, just to name a few. I am the original owner; most were custom designed by the maker when we met at the NYC Knife Shows at that time.
Should any of these names evoke a meaningful or emotional response, you obviously know who they are, and appreciate the significance of their art. I’d certainly prefer that they find the right home with a collector who appreciates this work. I’d also prefer not to have to consign them to a professional dealer, as the pricing would instantly inflate by 35% to cover the dealers fees.
If interested, Please EMAIL FOR DETAILS and PHOTOS. I’m still in contact with some of those first mentioned names, and they have personally verified the knife, their specs and components, and the fact they were made for me. Their condition is “very occasionally, and gently touched over the last 30 years.” They are in EX CONDITION, THEIR METALWORK AND HANDLES PROPERLY PROTECTED FROM OXIDATION, CORROSION, SHRINKAGE, AND SPLITTING.
They come with their original letter sheaths, or their satin pouches, or their zippered cases, or their matching scabbard of lacquered wood, or of stainless steel, or in the fitted, and finished, wood case made by the maker for that knife. They can be onspected at my NYC midtown office, @ East 35th St., by appointment.
