AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to
prohibiting the sale of gasoline powered leaf blowers and lawn mowers

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The environmental conservation law is amended by adding a
new section 19-0306-c to read as follows:
§ 19-0306-C. SALE OF CERTAIN GAS-POWERED LAWN CARE DEVICES PROHIBITED.
THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE RULES AND REGULATIONS WHICH SHALL
PROHIBIT THE SALE OF GASOLINE POWERED LEAF BLOWERS AND LAWN MOWERS IN
THE STATE BY JANUARY FIRST, TWO THOUSAND TWENTY-FIVE.
§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

Assemblyman Carroll (D-WFP) was born and raised in the 44th Assembly District in Brooklyn. He won his last election in 2022 with 85.9 percent of the vote. New York City voters love their anti freedom douchebags.

Carroll is the prime sponsor of the New York Build Public Renewables Act, which would allow the New York Power Authority to take the lead in building, operating, and owning renewable energy projects in New York State and require all state-owned buildings to be powered by renewables by 2030 and municipally owned buildings to be powered by renewables by 2035."

I bought an electric mower and I’m happy with it but that doesn’t mean it will work for everyone. I can’t imagine doing a large lawn with one. What about landscaping companies, will there be a carve out? I will go to pa and buy a replacement gas blower if needed. I love my 4-stroke blower. In reality now that I’m only doing my house and not landscaping for others I could get a battery powered leaf blower and it will be fine.
I wonder why snowblowers aren’t included in that list?
They are clowns and I think it’s 50/50 of it will pass. They backed off the no gas stoves/furnaces because the backlash.

I`m gonna go by a gas powered push lawn mower today!
While i`m at it, i will buy a brand new GAS POWERED zero turn mower AND a brand new GAS POWERED trimmer today, too!

AND, while i`m mowing AND trimming my 2 acre yard, with GAS POWERED equipment today,
i`ll throw some charcoal on the grill and cook some fuggin chiggin!

AND, i`m gonna light that fukking charcoal up with a propane tank!

They`ll be installing microphones across the state to listen for gas engines running. Then they will send in the troops to arrest an jail you.

It's because of this shit that I enjoy watching both my burn barrels billow smoke while I mow my big yard. As with many others, an electric mower would never work for me, not the amount that I have to mow. Carroll should do everyone a favor and sit down and shut up.

There's already the impending NYS schools have to be powered by renewables by 2035.

Then there's the 2027 statewide electric school bus mandate.

If the school districts have to also revamp their groundskeeping equipment to all-electric.
School taxes are going to go sky fucking high.

I'm just saying.

For something that would affect millions of New Yorkers across the whole state, Carroll should have to prove what effect banning gas-powered blowers and mowers would have on the environment as a whole. If he is unable to provide any provable data that shows positive and meaningful results. (as I would suspect) It will show the fraud that he is and the bill A705 should be removed.
